George is here so let's get started!
George, what's on your mind after yesterday's win?
Hey everyone, well it was entertaining to say the least yesterday. We saw some flashes of the offense that was successful yesterday. We saw Brian Orakpo get his first career INT and TD, but we also saw the special teams give up another TD. Were you pleased with what you saw?
George, we've got a question from the staff: How important is it that RG3 learns how to get out of bounds and how to slide? Is he bound for injury?
I did not like the way Griffin stayed in bounds a couple times yesterday to try and get a couple extra yards. I think you are playing with danger there, but he also was able to get out of bounds on other runs which is very important. He needs to do that.
Some breaking news beign reported by Adam Schefter just now. He is saying the NFL is expected to suspend Brandon Merriweather for 1-2 games. He had 2 personal foul penalties yesterday for helmet - to helmet hits. What did you think of the calls?
I think the special teams is still a concern, back to back weeks with a punt return for a touchdown. Do you want to see a change there even though they won the game?
It's unfortunate that this is a position that the Redskins are not deep in. It will hurt when the league suspends him, especially with Rambo not in the good graces of the coaches at this time.
What did everyone think of Jordan Reed yesterday? He set a Redskins rookie record and is getting better each week. Are Fred Davis' days in DC over?
Roy Helu was great yesterday. He provides a pretty good 1-2 punch with Alfred Morris. It also helps when the quarterback is a threat with 84 yards
I agree with that, he was phenomenal and as Griffin said after the game he and Reed worked together a lot in the offseason. Reed also has the ability to get open he said. He's going to be a big part of this offense moving forward.
The NFL will suspend him reports are. As far as the team, I'm not sure they can afford to do anything with him this season. The NFL will take care of that for them. They are extrememly thin at that position as well. He is not helping his cause as a repeat offender each week.
It's pretty bad when a returner isn't a threat to make it to atleast the 20-yard line , isn't it?
Merriweather has been doing this all year and as a repeat offender and after yesterday, you knew a suspension was a possibility.
Orakpo said after the game that they do not prepare for backup QB's at all during the week. So, when one comes in the game it's an advantage for the offense. We saw that yesterday for sure.
We're about to wrap up, folks. Thanks for joining in today.
Thanks everyone, we will see you next week. A very tough task next Sunday as the Redskins go into Denver and face Peyton Manning and the Denver offense.
