Happy Monday everybody, victory Monday I should say. So, let's get right to it. Did this win save the season?
Exaclty Phil, t
he next two weeks are huge. At Minnesota on Thursday, the Vikings are not a good football team. They then go to Philadelphia the week after, another winnable game. If they can get to 5-5 then that changes everything.
David, the good news is that they have 4 division games left. If they can put together a few wins and get on a roll then they have a shot. They play the Giants and Cowboys the last two weeks of the season, those games could be huge.
It's hard to say because they have yet to string together back - to- back wins. Everytime they take a step forward, the next week they take a step back. If they can't go out and beat Minnesota on Thursday, then what will this win mean?
DeAngelo Hall is definitely playing at a pro bowl level and has been all year. He came back this year, took less money and signed a one year deal. DY always gets praise from teammates for his hard work and blocking. They're rewarding him by giving him the football in short yardage situations.
Yes, this week could work out in the Redskins favor with a matchup against Minnesota. Although, they did have Dallas on the ropes on the road yesterday. Nick Foles will probably come back to earth a little bit after his 7 td performance. Bottom line, have to take care of business against teams they should beat, and Minnesota is one of them.
@cykodad the game never should have come down to the goal line stand, the Redskins had a 10 point lead with about six minutes remaining. The offense needs to run out the clock and put games away and the defense needs to hold late in games. Now, the end of regulation was huge, but also could have been a disaster had San Diego run the ball on 2nd or 3rd down.
After Garcon criticized the offense this week, he came out and backed it up with 172 yards receiving. Are you ok with him being outspoken as long as he backs it up on the field?
That's exactly what I was saying in the pressbox yesterday. I would have run on 3rd and 3, I like those chances better, even if they didn't get the first down the clock would have continued to run. I'll take Morris in those situations anytime.
I don't have a problem with Garcon speaking out either. I know some of the players would like it to be kept in the locker room, but he was frustrated and let his feelings be known.
Special Teams is still an issue. Blocked field goals yesterday, two drives starting at their own one yard line. The players stlil say they are adjusting to new coach Keith Burns, but at some point that can't be an issue anymore.
@chuckyT3 I'm sorry for your Raiders defense!! Nick Foles looked like Peyton yesterday, that was amazing.
That's exactly right, if they had lost yesterday it would have been a bigger deal because of the two missed field goals. Granted, one was a 59 yarder, but still. The talent is there , they just have to get it done. No excuses.
Thanks for joining us today everyone. We are at the midway point of the season already. We will see if the Redskins can make it two in a row on Thursday and keep the momentum going. Have a good week.
Thanks everyone! Hope to see you back here soon.
