Hey everyone, Happy Monday!! Another loss and now 3-11. What did you think yesterday of Kirk Cousins? Did you have a problem with them going for 2 at the end of the game?
Hi everyone. George is here, so let's get started.
I didn't have a problem going for two. Why not? You're 3-10, go for the win and try and take it right there. The last thing anyone wanted to see was more football between those teams. I would have run the QB draw though!
But let's be honest, nobody should win a game with 7 turnovers. THat is just unacceptable on any level.
Tom, that's the part that is very frsutrating. This is the same offense as last year, same guys with the addition of a big playmaker as Jordan Reed. Griffin hasn't had a great year coupled with how bad the defense and special teams are you get 3-11
I thought Cousins played well at times. He did throw 2 INTs and had a fumble, but in times I think he proved that he can run the offense for sure.
With the way Cousins played yesterday and if he plays well the next two games, what would you do with him in the off season? Trade him? Keep him?
It would have been nice to get a win, I agree with that especailly with the good things that were done. Those numbers are pretty impressive, but at the end of the day this team continues to hurt itself.
I think if you can get a #1 draft pick or even better, 2 #2's then you have to trade him. This team needs draft picks and needs players. I think a lot will have to do if there is a new coach next season and what the new regime thinks. Yes, it's great to have 2 quality qbs, but this team needs draft picks.
The Redskins have invested too much in Griffin to give up on him after two seasons, one in which he was coming off major surgery. He will be given every opportunity to be the franchise QB. He will have a full offseason, which makes a huge difference at the QB position.
George and participants: Do you think this ongoing front office and coaching controversy is affecting how the team is playing?
Scott, thanks for the video. Everything starts from the top and that is the constant with this organization since Dan Snyder bought the team in 1999. One of the biggest things you just mentioned was Bobby Beathard, a real General Manager. That's what this team needs.
It's kind of hard to tune all of the noise out. I know players say all the time that once they are on the field all they do is play football and tune everything out. But, all week while we are at the complex the players are constantly being asked about off the field drama and nothing about football. It has to take a toll on you.
The one thing Dan Snyder has never done is hire a true GM. He has tried everything else and it hasn't worked. I don't want someone that, as Bill Parcels would say, picks the groceries and cooks the meals. He needs a true GM and let the GM hire a coach, it seems to work at most places.
