  • Memorial Day traffic, road closures:

    • The National Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Monday.
    The parade will commence at the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Streets, NW. It will proceed west down Constitution, past the White House, ending at 17th Street. Participants will pass by the nation’s monuments, museums, and hundreds of thousands of spectators waving their flags and cheering for our country’s heroes – the men and women who wear the uniform of our armed forces.  Read more about the parade on the event's website.

    • The Rockville Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade is on Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rockville Town Center.The parade will begin at Martins Lane and N. Washington, and end on Monroe Street.

    • The District Department of Transportation lifts the reversible lane restrictions for the Memorial Day holiday Monday.

    • Metro says trains and most buses will run on a Sunday schedule for Memorial Day.

    Metro says the rail system will open at 7 a.m. Monday and close at midnight. Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking is free at all Metrorail parking lots. Read more on
