Unfortunately our time has come to an end. Thanks for all the comments and questions. It seems to be a consensus that Griffin doesn't need to be benched and people are not happy with the defense. Next week they travel to Oakland for the final game before the bye week. Let's hope for a better result. See you next Monday at the same time. Have a good week.

Welcome to week three everyone. 0-3, that doesn't sound too good does it? Plenty to talk about from yesterdays game. What do you think happened? Let's talk about it for the next hour.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:03:38 PM
Let's get started with a question for George from the WTOP staff.
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:05:07 PM
Do you think Robert Griffin III played better yesterday? How bad was the defense again?
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:05:14 PM
How frustrated is the D-line with the secondary?
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:05:20 PM
The secondary had another tough day yesterday. DeAngelo Hall did have an interception return for a touchdown but other than that the Lions had a ton of big plays. The defense got off the field in the 3rd quarter a good amount, but wasn't enough.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:08:09 PM
I do think Griffin took another step yesterday. He was running the zone read a number of times and we saw them move him around quite a bit more as well. \
Belinda Johnson says via Facebook: RGIII need to spend less time in front of the camera and spend more time on the field with his offense. Two minute on the field is not going to win game. I know the Defense S**K real bad, no Defense in the NFL are going to do well if they on the field 80% of the time.
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:21:37 PM
I can understand that we need to play R-G-3 so that he can become more comfortable and confident...but what are we gonna do about this defense? The offense is showing signs of improvement, but the defense is not. The offense didn't help them in the first two games, but yesterday the defense was terrible.
by Steve9/23/2013 4:21:58 PM
I think it's ridiculous to think that Griffin should be benched. That's not going to happen. They are going to have to let him play and get back to full strength after this injury. This was expected I think, but the bigger issue is the defense
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:23:11 PM
Exactly Steve, the defense is a bigger issue right now. The secondary is young, yes, but the missed tackles are inexcusable at this level.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:23:49 PM
It's getting to a point where the offense is going to have to win games for them. The defense will be getting some help after the bye when Jarvis Jenkins and Rob Jackson return from suspensions.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:25:23 PM
Dorothy McColl Holmberg says via Facebook: Try cousins. RGIII. Needs to be replaced
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:25:50 PM
should run Morris more. but yah he should have been benched for this game. funny maybe people were right about Andrew Luck #redskins#wtop
Do you like to see RG3 throw the ball 50 times a game?
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:32:58 PM
The Redskins NEVER learn - over the years, they have too often put all their eggs in one basket and gotten kicked in the fanny because of it. They make RG3 the end-all, be-all of the team and forget that they need 10 other offensive players and 11 defensive players to play a game !
by EasyEd9/23/2013 4:33:41 PM
Patty ZambranoI used to be all about RGIII. And I still think he is a fine man with a generous heart. But I looked at it objectively. He was a rookie last year, he was an incredibly exciting player to watch, but he was prideful in the end and didn't step aside when he was supposed to. And he lost the season for the team. He didn't put the team first and so we didn't make the playoffs. He is not doing well this year. 3 games is charm. Step aside and let Cousins have a turn to bring the team around. And yes, it isn't just offense, our defense is a disaster. But the leader of the team is important and I don't think that RGIII is leading right now. In short, it's Cousins turn. And maybe RGII has done all he can. He never really brought us a winning season, it just felt like it last year for a while.
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:35:29 PM
Nou VisalowskiTheir playbook for the last three games was too predictable. If the skins lose to the Raiders this Sunday, then something is really wrong with the team. (Via Facebook)

Hey George and chat watchers:
How pivotal was the incomplete pass in the end zone with Aldrick Robinson?
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:36:51 PM
There's no question that the incomplete pass to Robinson was a game changer. That would have changed the momentum and put the Redskins ahead. More importantly it would have given them the big play spark that this team has been looking for all season
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:38:00 PM
The Griffin fumble was also costly. He had rushed for 21-yards then fumbled. We saw the burst of speed we had been waiting to see all year as well. The important thing there is that we did see the run from Griffin. It is there and we need to see it a little more and I think we will.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:39:26 PM
I know the Redskins have there problems BUT I think the league needs to look at some of the calls by the refs need to be looked. I think the refs were hired from some rookie league. The fumble call on RG3 and the touchdown call were JUST PLANE WRONG!
by Rick9/23/2013 4:43:37 PM
In the meantime, George: Megan from our staff wants to know where the pass rush was yesterday? What do you guys think?
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:46:24 PM
Defensive Coordinator needs to be down on the Side Line not upstairs in a Booth. Defense can't stop the Run or Pass.
by Javier 9/23/2013 4:49:11 PM
Rick, the fumble call yesterday was correct. They changed that rule a couple years ago when Eli Manning had a simlar play. He wasn't touched therefore the ground can cause the fumble, which it did yesterday. The touchdown was very close, but you need to maintain control when you go to the ground and Robinson did not.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:49:26 PM
That's a good point Javier, Haslett did say last week that the toughest part is obviously not being able to communicate with players as they come off the field. He said he can see things better up there, but we will see if he makes a change if this continues.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:50:20 PM
@WTOP The fact that they continued to use a racial slur for their name.
This guy answered our Twitter question: What was the worst part of last night's game?
by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:52:59 PM
No running Gamr, need to give Morris the Ball more often. rG3 still throwing behind his receivers way to often or under throwing. He needs to learn how to slide feet first or not FUMBLE the ball if we wants to slide Head first. mike shanahan play calling is very questionable as well. This Team also seems to lack discipline, to many penalties and missed tackles, but I still have Hope that this Team will turn it around
by Javier 9/23/2013 4:54:09 PM
I agree David, that was definitely a big momentum shift in the game. They were driving down the field and had opened up the offense a bit, then turnover.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:54:20 PM
@WTOP Bob Griffin's fumble. If anyone should know how to hold into the ball, it's him.
I would like to see them get back to evening out the running and throwing. The first two games I will let slide because they were behind very early. Yesterday the game was close and Griffin still threw the ball 50 times. Only 15 carries for Morris yesterday.
by George Wallace9/23/2013 4:57:11 PM
Aldrick Robinson's TD getting overturned. That sucked the life out of the game.
by EFLSolutions9/23/2013 4:57:51 PM
No doubt Albert, Aldrick Robinson neeeds to catch that football. He's on this team for plays just like that.
by Pete Richardsvia twitter edited by WTOP News9/23/2013 4:58:16 PM
No, they should not bench RGIII. They should fire our "scouting" dept. that's not able to evaluate talent. Every other team seems to be able to find players except for the Redskins!! We need to start with the defensive line, we haven't had a true pass rush since Dexter Manley and Charles Mann were here!! Even when we stunt, the pass rush it still not there!! No CBs can cover a wide receiver in the NFL without a sustained pressure on the quaeterback!! We need better evaluators of talent in our organization so that we will find the right people for the positions that area lacking!!
by dbanks2699/23/2013 4:58:51 PM
The one reply hit the nail on the head, less time in front of the camera. These egotistical kids need to earn their pay. I find it interesting the other glamor boy, Colin K. is also struggling. We turn them into gods before they have the chance to really prove themselves. No wonder they have inflated egos
by Mike9/23/2013 5:01:50 PM
You cannot build a team around one person. Redskins acquisitions over the last couple of seasons - players touted as "just what the team needs" should prove that. Lots of respect for RGIII and his abilities but ther are other players on the team.
