WASHINGTON -- The rain has stopped, but flooding and high water continue to cover roads in the region Thursday.
Road closures remain around the region and the risk of flooding forced the city of Laurel to evacuate several hundred people.
Lingering showers will give way to some sunshine Thursday as parts of the region deal with high waters and flooding. Wednesday’s record rainfall continues to run downstream causing more flooding concerns, even the sun has come out.
There is an ongoing Flood Warning for parts of Maryland as the Monocacy and Patuxtent rivers remain above flood stage.
Roads around the regions remain closed because of flooding and high water.
