If you choose Cheddar Bunnies over Goldfish and Kashi over Kellogg’s, you’re not alone. The demand for organic food is growing nationwide, and in D.C., that demand is even greater.
The District recently landed a spot on a list of the 10 most organic cities, The Huffington Post reports.
And while your typical, organic-crazed West Coast cities (eh hem – Portland and San Francisco) rank first and second, the East Coast is represented by a handful of cities, such as Providence, Rhode Island, Boston, Philadelphia, and of course, D.C.
The rankings were based on a study commissioned by Campbell Soup Company and Sperling’s Best Places. The same study found that city-dwellers and West Coasters are more likely to include organic food in their diets.
