iOS 8: What to expect? Worth the risk?

WASHINGTON -- Today's the day Apple rolls out its new mobile operating system -- iOS 8.

New features include quicker access to contacts, keyboard improvements,
Apple's Health app, tweaks to Photos and Messages apps, family sharing, and continuity
between Apple devices.

iPhones including 4S and later, all but original iPads, Minis, iPod Touch 5th
generation are compatible with iOS 8.

Older devices must be updated to the current iOS 7.1.2 before updating to 8.

The new operating system comes pre-installed on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, when they
go on sale Friday.
