Ask the Governor: Va. Gov. Terry McAuliffe

Ask the Governor: Va. Gov. Terry McAuliffe

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe will join WTOP's "Ask the Governor" at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, to take your questions live.

  • What is your position on the controversial Bi-County Parkway and its current design taking it through the historic district (Manassas battlefield)?
  • Gov McAuliffe, in about 8 months the HOV lanes along I95 will convert to HOT lanes. Currently hybrid vehicles are exempted from the 3-person rule as an incentive to drive less air polluting vehicles. Once the HOT lanes open these clean air vehicles will lose their exemptions. Many drivers will not replace their current hybrids with newer ones, but with less expensive dirty air cars. Are you in favor of extending the current hybrid exemptions to the new HOT lanes to protect the air quality of Northern Virginia? I am afraid that the air quality will suffer. In addition, I believe that the air quality is more important than corporate profits that will be generated by the HOT lanes.
  • McAuliffe holds firm on Medicaid expansion, budget impasse continues

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe showed no signs of backing down from
his position that the state should expand Medicaid during an appearance on WTOP's
    "Ask the Governor" Wednesday.
