Congress and Senate will be paid. Their staffers and them will receive a supplement for payment of the ACA amount that is required of them, however I am stuck with the increase that my employer is having to pay, they pass the increase in premium onto me. Why are they exempt from this and I have to pay a higher premium when I already have adequate health insurance? One set of rules for them and another set for all the rest of us. We are in a society of "The Rules Don't Apply To Me!" people but all the rest of the citizen must obey, how is that for FAIR!!! I know who I will not be VOTING for in Nov..... CLEAN HOUSE @ the SENATE & HOUSE.

As Congress gridlocked, Obama said a "shutdown will have a very real economic impact on real people, right away," with hundreds of thousands of federal workers furloughed and veterans' centers, national parks, most of the space agency and other government operations shuttered. This is beyond ridiculous. I am for affordable care but do have some issues with it such as forcing everyone to get insured. It is stupid to shut down the government because of this when it is continuing anyway. I work with many people who are against affordable care and there is one thing we all agree on--Affordable care should not even be an issue in this discussion. Let it continue to fail or succeed on its own merit. Another thing we all agree on is that there should be term limits and an over haul of the

Will this childish behavior stop????? The "people" on the hill SHOULD NOT BE PAID AS LONG AS THE FEDS ARE SHUTOUT. THEY ARE FEDS TOO!!!! They are acting like children. However, once the big $$ companies start calling capital hill about losing money - this will end. The "elected" want to KEEP getting elected and they know the companies with deep pockets are willing to pay IF THEY KEEP MAKING MONEY. The people on the hill don't care about the working class of Americans-they care about making money for their own pockets. And the sooner the American people understand that - then maybe SOMETHING will change. But not until then. WAKE UP AMERICA! Sad, sad day for the US of A

I'm actually irritated with WTOP for having a democratic Congressional member come on the radio this morning lamenting about working with republicans and blaming this on them. I am beyond sick of the sophomoric name calling and belittling. I hope none of the American people vote to keep these Congress members in office next term.
-
I did my part last election to vote these charlatans out of office. This is an affirmation from the American people. They voted to keep the same loons in office. They are the ones we should be directing our anger at. Those who voted the Tea Party in; those who allowed Boehner to win his seat UNCONTESTED.

How about an assault weapons ban for a six month delay in the Affordable care Act. Sounds like a win /win to me. Or maybe a immigration bill for a 7 month delay in the affordable care act. Another win/win. When the debt ceiling debate starts up, the Dems can offer a 5 month delay in the assault weapons ban. Again this could work. If the GOP backs down, then the dems could claim the GOP does not want to compromise. Sort of like call there bluff. In any event. The ACA has already been funded and will go into effect either way.

I don't care what party you are for. They ALL need to go and we need fresh--new--clear--non partisan politicians in there. This federal worker is frankly tired of the games and the blame game. This is my family you are affecting but of course you politicians continue to get paid...you all have real sympathy for us. And for those of you that think federal workers are rich, get a grip. We have our own struggles as we try and put kids through college and live within our means without going into debt. Thank goodness we do and sometimes have to say no. I have never been so resentful of this government as I have the last few years. Acting like a bunch of kids and it's embarrassing as a country. Grow up and vote for one thing at a time. it should not be allowed to tie in other bills that causes these situations to happen. Grow up Washington and vote to not get paid to all Federal workers are back to work and issues are resolved.
