Second round of storms move through D.C. region

WASHINGTON -- Another round of severe thunderstorms moved through the region Wednesday evening.

Many people are still without power since Tuesday's powerful storms. As of 7 p.m., 7,700 Dominion customers are without power -- mostly in Prince William County; Potomac Edison is reporting 9,000 outages in Frederick and Carroll counties and other utilities have scattered outages.

A cold front should clear the area overnight as temperatures settle to the middle 60s and lower 70s.

Slightly lower temperatures are set to arrive Thursday and Friday with hotter weather back in the forecast the weekend.
